I think we’re into the third day now of not inconsiderable winds and rain. We made a dash to the shops for the last of the Christmas things, and it was pretty brutal out, with patches of the road flooded. The winds should start to calm down this evening (apparently), and hopefully the rain will ease soon, too.
It was lovely getting back home and switching on the Christmas lights and getting a Christmas film on, all cosy inside while everything raged outside. We watched “That Christmas”, released this year, yesterday afternoon and Auri loved it so much it has already had a repeat viewing (more than one, in fact). Euan also introduced her to “Home Alone”, which was never really something my siblings and I watched when we were little, but Auri found the slapstick nature of it all hilarious (despite refusing to watch it originally - she gets very nervous about watching new things).
There is a Christmas Tree trail in the local woods, with local groups decorating individual trees. I haven’t seen them all yet, but there are some near the path, and they look great. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and we can all go together to have a look.
Christmas lights and Christmas movies. We have no youngsters around for the festivities but that film is on our List. Also, a Chicken Run movie I’m very excited about. I may watch it with a bowl of breaded chicken nuggets as my snack!
