Today is my parents’ wedding anniversary. Forty-eight years!
Another day in the office, which meant an earlier start for all of us; today, Euan dropped us off at work, nursery, and school respectively, before heading out on a fieldtrip himself. Elfi is currently obsessed with “What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor?”, so we had to listen to it about five or six times in a row in the car, while she and Auri laughed away. The song would come to an end, only to be received with a cry of “‘gain!” from the back seat.
Today was our staff conference, and there was also a bake sale raising money for some chosen local charities. I had three (small) pieces of cake and I’m not sorry in the slightest.
On arriving home, I noticed the oil tank sensor was showing that we had dipped down to two blobs (there is probably a more official descriptor than this), out of a total of ten. That meant it was time to put in an order for more heating oil. The last order had been placed in April, so we’ve done well to make it last this long - given the weather, I can’t see the heating (on a timer, to come on morning and night) going off again now this side of March. It seems mad to think it was only last week we were sitting out in the garden on the decking in the evening, after enjoying a barbeque.
Hope heating oil prices are reasonable. We topped up last month in anticipation though we’ll have another month before the heating really needs to be on. Our ‘two blob’ setting is a piece of masking tape at the top marked ‘filled on (and a date)’ and one lower down marked ‘order now’. It works. Also, those tatties, dreamy
